What is a KYC Interview and why is it required?

KYC stands for Know Your Customer, and it’s a process used by financial institutions and service providers to verify the identity of their clients. It’s not just a formality—it’s a legal and regulatory requirement designed to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illicit activities.

Others in the market offer services like Patient Forms, Practice Analytics, Online Scheduling, Reminders, Payment Processing and more, why don't you?

Those services siphon your practice and patient data out of your control. We were established because we believe these practices to be unethical and an offense to the consumer. That being said, we do have plans to enable users of OpenDental to benefit from Reminders and patient texting. What is unique about our approach is that we'll do it (alsmost) entirely in your environment: Our OpenDental Plugin generates a payload containing only the minimum amount of information required to acheive a specific task, the payload is securely submitted to our services, and upon completion of the work a payload is sent back with the results which our plugin can use to update data within OpenDental. Neither we nor any party we work with ever has access to any information outside of what is required to do the work.

Can I have a demo or speak to a sales representative?

Of course you can, just search the web for VoIP or PBX services and the first page will be full of paid advertisements, click any one and there's likely an agent waiting to chat and setup a demo or call with sales. FusionPBX is at the core of our offerings, but if you do take someone elses time for a demo it's kind of rude to come back to us, at least stick with them through the contract.

What about a free trial? Every other similar service offers free trials.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, those free trials are subsidized by paying customers. We believe in fairness and offering the best value, so you can rest assured when you do join your dues are going towards paying for your services, not ad spend, commisions, or free trials.

Why doesn't the developer plan include SSO Logins, Long Term Storage, and managed monitoring, backups, and incident response?

The Developer plan offers customers the highest level of customizability, which does include the ability to setup SSO, monitoring, backups, and long term storage. This transfer of control means a transfer of ownership responsibilities as well, and because we would no longer control the environment or what your developers do in it we cannot guarantee system stability. That being said, we can offer certain services like monitoring, backup, and restoration on a best effort basis with no guaranteed SLAs.

What if I don't have an enterprise account?

In addition to Microsoft Azure and Google Workplace Enterprise accounts, our federated Identity and Access Management accepts personal Microsoft and Google accounts. Other OpenID Connect (OIDC) compliant Identity Providers are also compatible and may be considered if there's reasonable demand.

Do you support Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) or Bring Your Own Provider (BYOP)?

The Developer plan gives you full control to bring your own storage, provider or even run in your own cloud.
